A straight-forward, smashable lager made predominantly with Aussie malt and Kiwi hops.

Target OG: 1.041
Target FG: 1.007
Target ABV: 4.5%
Target IBU: 22
Malts:
VIC Pale Malt (Barrett Burston)
Chit Malt (Bestmalz)
Acid Malt (Bestmalz)
Mashed at 65ºc
Hops:
Wakatu @ First Wort (10 IBU)
Magnum @ 60 mins (12 IBU)
Yeast Suggestion
Instructions:
This is meant to be a very clean lager so pitching a neutral lager yeast at a mid-range temp will provide a good result. We use S-189 by Fermentis, pitch and hold at 13ºc until nearing the end of ferment, where we will allow a free rise to 15ºc. Give it several days once the ferment is complete to clean up diacetyl, then crash the beer. The beer with have a light haze and a hint of sulphur if you only lager for a few weeks. Leave for 5-6 weeks before packaging if you want a super clean and clear beer. We carbonate to 2.6 volumes of CO2.
How to use the kit!
1 – Pour the contents of the bag into your sanitised fermenting vessel.
2 – Pitch yeast as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
3 – Once fermentation has finished, proceed to bottle/keg. Carbonate and Condition.
4 – Enjoy responsibly!
