HOME BREW RECIPE - ENGLISH BROWN ALE

A great all-around beer. Easy to brew our English Brown combined Maris Otter Pale malt, chocolate and crystal malts with traditional Fuggles hops. It's mild enough o light beer drinkers but has enough character for more experienced brewers and beer lovers who enjoy a malt-driven English beer

Ingredients for the English Brown Ale

4.1kg - Simpsons Maris Otter Pale Ale Malt

300g  - Simpsons Pale Crystal Malt

160g - Briess Victory Malt

150g - Joe White Chocolate Malt

50g - Joe White Cara Malt

60 min - 40g Hops #1

15 min - Whirlfloc Tablet

15 mins - 15g Hops #1

1 Packet - Fermentis Saf Ale 04 Yeast

Brew Time: 3 - 4 weeks


This kit also includes hops products, The exact flavours are a store secret. Exact Hop's names are given on the recipe card in the kit.

Instructions

Mash Schedule: 67°c for 60 mins then mash out at 75°c for 10 mins. (optional: add 5.2pH buffer to strike water)

Lauter/Sparge: Sparge with enough 75°c water to achieve 26L pre-boil volume

Boil Schedule: Boil for 60 mins, adding hops and whirlfloc as indicated.

Fermentation: Cool wort to 24°c aerate wort and pitch yeast. Ferment at 20°c for 2 weeks or until SG reaches 1.101. Bottle of keg and allow maturing for 3 - 4 weeks before serving.
