RUMEVITE Sheep & Cattle is a pelletised grain supplement designed for adult sheep and cattle grazing on mature dry pasture or hay, particularly during drought conditions. This feed provides essential nutrients to support animal health and productivity.
Key Features:
- Palatable Grain-Based Ration: Pellet form minimizes wastage and encourages intake.
- Balanced Nutrition: Contains appropriate levels of calcium, phosphorus, trace minerals, and vitamins to support overall health and well-being.
- Bovatec® Inclusion: Contains 33.00 mg/kg DM Lasalocid to improve liveweight gains and feed conversion efficiency in growing cattle and lot-fed cattle; also aids in reducing faecal shedding of coccidia (Eimeria spp.) in sheep maintained in confinement.
- Suitable Drought Ration: When fed with hay, it serves as an effective drought ration.
Feeding Directions:
- Suitable For: Adult sheep and cattle grazing mature dry pasture or in conjunction with hay.
- Preparation: Ensure that appropriate animal husbandry procedures are completed before feeding; consult a veterinarian for advice. Group livestock of similar size and age together.
- Initial Feeding: On the first day, provide palatable hay to appetite to ensure all livestock are full.
- Feeding Rate: Start feeding at a rate of 0.25 kg per 50 kg liveweight per day. Gradually increase the rate each day over the next 21 days up to a maximum of 1.0 kg per 50 kg liveweight per head per day.
- Feeding Method: Can be fed in self-feeders or troughs. Ensure that dry pasture or hay is readily available and that livestock can consume this forage to appetite at all times.
- Self-Feeder Adjustment: Adjust slide settings to regulate feed intake and achieve recommended feeding rates. The feeder slide should be set so that stock have to lick the feed out from under the slide.
- Trough Space Requirements: When using self-feeders, adult cattle will require up to 35 cm of trough space per head; adult sheep will require up to 12 cm of trough space per head. If feeding by hand into troughs, split the daily allocation into two feeds. When using troughs, adult cattle will require up to 60 cm of trough space per head; adult sheep up to 30 cm of trough space per head.
