BADMOTIVATOR Legacy American Oak Ex-Bourbon 6.4L Barrel

BADMOTIVATOR Legacy American Oak Ex-Bourbon 6.4L Barrel is a premium small-batch ageing barrel, perfect for whisky, rum, bourbon and other spirits. Crafted from a genuine ex-bourbon barrel, each piece is carefully reconditioned and re-charred to provide an authentic ageing experience while preserving the character and history of the original barrel.

Every barrel is individually planed to ensure a smooth finish while retaining unique marks from its previous life, including stains, stamps, paint, brands, wax, spile marks, saw marks and other distinctive features. No two barrels are the same, making each one a truly unique addition to your home bar or ageing collection.

The 6.4L capacity is ideal for home enthusiasts looking to experiment with spirit ageing and flavour development. The American Oak imparts rich notes of vanilla, caramel, toasted oak and spice, while the smaller size accelerates the maturation process compared to larger commercial barrels.

Before leaving the workshop, each barrel is repaired where necessary, loose char material is removed, and a fresh char layer is applied to ensure it is ready for ageing. The result is a character-filled barrel that combines authentic craftsmanship with excellent performance.

PLEASE NOTE: Each barrel comes with a unique serial number. Unfortunately, specific serial numbers cannot be selected or requested.

Care & Ageing Information:

• Used oak barrels should not be left empty for extended periods.
• The oak is naturally more porous, which may result in minor leakage when first filled.
• If leaks occur, allow the barrel to sit for several days as the wood will typically swell and seal itself.
• It is recommended to soak the barrel with water for at least 24 hours before emptying and filling with your chosen spirit.
• Barrels that have been stored for an extended period may benefit from a few weeks of settling before optimal ageing performance is achieved.
