Home Brewing Recipe - Single Hop Pale Ale

Fresh citrusy aromas complement a silky, lightly malted background with the addition of rye. Showcasing the vibrant nature of the Mosaic hop, this Single Hop Pale Ale is an easy-drinking, any-day, anytime type of brew. Be sure to make plenty!

Ingredients for the Single Hop Pale Ale

3.0kg - Gladfields American Ale Malt

1.0kg - Best Malz Wheat Malt

700g - Weyermann Rye Malt

60 min - 10g Mosaic Hops

30 min -10g Mosaic Hops

15 min - Whirlfloc Tablet

10 min - 20g Mosaic Hops

0 min - 20g Mosaic Hops

1 Packet - Fermentis US-05 Ale Yeast 11g

Brew Time: 4 - 5 weeks

This kit also includes hops products, as a beginner recipe, Wallington's is giving the complete recipe away. It is however easier to purchase the complete kit below.

60g bag of Mosaic Hops

Instructions

Mash Schedule: 67°c for 60 mins, then mash out at 75°c for 10 mins (optional: add 5.2pH buffer to strike water)

Lauter/Sparge: Sparge with enough 75°c water to achieve 26L pre-boil volume

Boil Schedule: Boil for 60 mins, adding hops and whirlfloc as indicated.

Fermentation: Cool wort to 24°c, aerate wort and pitch yeast. Ferment at 20°c for 2 weeks or until SG reaches 1.010. Transfer to bottle or keg and allow 3 - 4 weeks of conditioning before serving. (optional: Dry hop with 50g Mosaic Hops 3 days before bottling or kegging. Note - Dry Hop addition not supplied in this kit)
