For all those seafaring lads who like a bit more 'wind in their sail', Shipwright Bitter is a British breakfast in a glass. Malty, earthy and balanced with a puckery punch, this beer should satisfy a real man's thirst who likes to wrap a hand around a mangle or three. "Pints Only!" by order of the Captian.

Ingredients for the Shipwrights Bitter

3.72kg - Simpsons Maris Otter Pale Ale Malt

280g - Simpsons Pale Crystal Malt

60 min - 25g Hops #1

45 min - 20g Hops #2

15 min - Whirlfloc Tablet

1 Packet - Fermentis Saf Ale 04 Yeast 11g

Dry Hop - 10g Hops #2

Brew Time: 4 - 5 weeks

This kit also includes hops products, The exact flavours are a store secret. Exact Hop's names are given on the recipe card in the kit.

Instructions

Mash Schedule: 67°c for 60 mins, then mash out at 75°c for 10 mins (optional: add 5.2pH buffer to strike water)

Lauter/Sparge: Sparge with enough 75°c water to achieve 26L pre-boil volume

Boil Schedule: Boil for 60 mins, adding hops and whirlfloc as indicated.

Fermentation: Cool wort to 24°c, aerate wort and pitch yeast. Ferment at 20°c for 2 weeks or until SG reaches 1.010. Dry hop with Hops #2 for 3 days before transferring to bottle or keg and allow 3 - 4 weeks conditioning before serving.
