Home Brewing Recipe - American Amber Ale

This classic American Amber brings together a moderately brisk hop flavour combined with a full-bodied and balanced malt backbone. This Amber is coppery golden in colour, full-bodied and combined with fresh hops, this beer makes a refreshing pint that is enjoyable all year round.

Ingredients for the American Amber Ale

4.3kg - Briess 2 Row Base Malt

200g  - Simpsons Pale Crystal Malt

200g - Briess Victory Malt

125g - Joe White Chocolate Malt

50g - Joe White Cara Malt

60 min - 35g Hops #1

15 min - Whirlfloc Tablet

15 min - 15g Hops #1

1 Packet - Fermentis US-05 Ale Yeast

Brew Time: 3 - 4 weeks

This kit also includes hops products, The exact flavours are a store secret. Exact Hop's names are given on the recipe card in the kit.

Instructions

Mash Schedule: 66°c for 60 mins, then mash out at 75°c for 10 mins (optional: add 5.2pH buffer to strike water)

Lauter/Sparge: Sparge with enough 75°c water to achieve 26L pre-boil volume

Boil Schedule: Boil for 60 mins, adding hops and whirlfloc as indicated.

Fermentation: Cool wort at 24°c, aerate wort and pitch yeast. Ferment at 18°c or until SG reaches 1.010. Bottle of keg and allow to mature for 3 - 4 weeks before serving.
