ROYAL CANIN BREED SPECIFIC FOOD - MAINE COON

Maine coon cats are one of the most popular cat breeds in the United States and for good reason. They're gentle giants that make great house pets, but they're also prone to heart conditions. That's why it's so important to have the correct food available for them. Royal Canin has perfected the best food for this very unique breed that can help keep your pet healthy and happy!

KITTEN STAGE (0 to 12 months old)

The kitten's digestive system is still developing during the growth phase, which continues for several weeks after. It's critical to feed your youngster nutritious food that aids in their digestive health. They require highly digestible proteins with adapted fibre content. Both wet and dry types of Royal Canin's Kitten food is available. However, we recommend combining the two types since they will assist a kitten to develop natural defences while also providing enough energy to get into mischief. Kittens can be very curious creatures so supporting their natural immune defences against them eating grass and dirt is a huge bonus. Kittens are also highly energetic as they age through their child, toddler and teenage stages all in a single year.

ADULT STAGE (12 Months+)

When your kitten turns one year old, they have officially transitioned into the adult stage. This is a very important time as their dietary needs will change significantly. Adult cats need balanced nutrients for optimal health and vitality. Maine Coon has very specific needs when it comes to overall health as they are prone to cardiac problems involving their heart muscles. Due to their large frames, they are also prone to joint issues when they get older so Royal Canin has formulated their Maine Coon wet and dry food accordingly. Not only does the food support joint and bone health but it also contains Taurine and Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA & DHA) which support healthy bones and great cardiac function. There are also great skin and coat benefits with the added amino acids, vitamins and fatty acids. The size of the kibble has been clinically designed to help support oral hygiene as their large jaw needs a more solid pellet in order to fight tooth decay.

Royal Canin also suggests mixing in some wet cat food in the form of Maine Coon wet cat food. This contains glucosamine and chondroitin to support joint and bone health. It's also a thick paste that allows big cats to eat more. There's no need to feed them huge portions when they're fed with such a strong additive.

WHY NOT COMBINED THEIR FOOD WITH AN ENRICHMENT PRODUCT?
